Caramelized Brussels Sprouts

Serves 2-4 as a side dish

Ingredients.

12-14 large Brussels sprouts

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 clove garlic, minced

Pinch of sea salt

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/4 cup roughly chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted

Directions for use.

Slice each Brussels sprout very thinly until you have a bunch of feathery ribbons of Brussels sprouts. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and saute the garlic for 30 seconds. Add the Brussels sprouts and continue to sauté for 4-5 minutes until green and soft. Add sea salt and brown sugar and toss to coat. Finish by adding the toasted nuts.
